Next Victor Boniface? 21-year-old Nigeria-eligible nomad signs for Union Saint-Gilloise

Victor Boniface's former club Union Saint-Gilloise has signed another Nigerian striker to their payroll.

Union Saint-Gilloise have pulled off a major coup by securing the signing of highly rated Canada-born Nigerian striker Promise 'Tobi' David from Estonian side Kalju FC.

The 21-year-old prodigy, who hails from Brampton, Ontario, has put pen to paper on a deal until 2027 with the option of a further year, in a move that is sure to excite Union's passionate supporters.

David, who spent time in the academy of MLS giants Toronto FC, has enjoyed a prolific spell in Estonia, netting 14 goals and providing 3 assists in just 16 appearances in the Premium Liiga last season.

The young forward has also plied his trade in Croatia, the United States, Malta and most recently Estonia, showcasing his nomadic journey as he hones his craft.

And now he has landed in the Belgian capital, where he will link up with Union's exciting squad as they look to build on last season's impressive third-place finish in the Jupiler Pro League.

David, who is also eligible to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria through his father, becomes the latest Nigerian to join the club after the recent departure of Victor Boniface to Bayer Leverkusen.

Fans will be eager to see if the dynamic striker can replicate his Estonia heroics and follow in the footsteps of Boniface to fire Union to new heights, as they aim to challenge the duopoly of Club Brugge and Antwerp at the top of the Belgian game.
