Nico Williams speaks on Spain's win
Williams, 21, opened the scoring early in the second half before Mikel Oyazarbal grabbed a late winner after England had briefly levelled through substitute Cole Palmer.
In the aftermath of Spain's triumph, the match-winner lifted the lid on the jubilant celebrations within the Spanish camp.
I'm ecstatic. Very honestly, all our people deserve it: our parents, the fans, those who supported us every single day, and well, here we are: Champions of Europe, we're so happy, and hopefully, we carry on like this with the national team, and it's onto the World Cup,' he told EURO 2024.
The youngster, who featured in all six of Spain's matches en route to the final, was in scintillating form throughout the tournament, netting two goals and providing one assist.
And the man of the match in the final was bullish about his side's chances of dominating world football in the years to come.
The truth is no one can handle us. As I said, we went at them from the beginning, we are a great team, and look, these guys deserve it, that's the truth,' he declared.
Spain's perfect EURO 2024 campaign, in which they won all seven of their matches, has cemented their status as the dominant force in European football, and they will now turn their attention to the upcoming World Cup.
With the global showpiece just around the corner, De la Fuente, who made history in Germany, and his side will be widely tipped to complete a historic double and add the world title to their continental crown.
In a related development, Williams looks increasingly likely to remain at his club Athletic Bilbao after an impressive EURO 2024 outing.
The Athletic president has reacted furiously to speculations surrounding Nico's future following enhanced reputation.
Williams, who scored two goals and assisted one after starting all six matches, formed a formidable partnership with Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, fuelling suggestions he could leave for the Catalan size.
Athletic Club's president Jon Uriarte has warned clubs that they view the 21-year-old winger as part of their immediate and long-term future.
Uriarte has not found it funny that the forward has been put on the spot while on international duty.
The Bilbao boss mentioned that the club is financially able to maintain in its structure footballers of the size of those named, including Nico Williams.
