Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has shed more light on what his recent trip to England achieved.
Peseiro recently went on a tour of England where he watched a couple of Super Eagles stars in action for their Premier League clubs.
Several Super Eagles stars ply their trade in the English top flight and Peseiro revealed it was necessary for him to fly out to see how they are doing at their clubs.
Peseiro observes Super Eagles stars in training
Among some of the players Peseiro met was Taiwo Awoniyi, who won Nottingham’s Forest man of the match in the game the Super Eagles coach attended.

Peseiro has since finished hour but the former Porto manager said the trip offered him the chance to speak with some of the players and also their club managers. He also added that he saw some of their training, which could help him in his role as Nigeria’s coach.
“It’s my strategy to see for myself our players in training, in practice and it’s important I speak with the coaches, with the fitness coaches, also,” Peseiro told The Mirror.
“I watched seven matches and I was at three practices to observe, to stay in contact with the players and speak with them. It’s different and it’s important I understand what they do there.

“I had good meetings with the coaches, shared some points about our players because normally we are not with them for too much time, but the club coach works with them for more time and can advise me or speak to me with more objectivity about what they can do,” he added.
Peseiro to see his players again in March
Peseiro will get a chance to see if he learnt anything from the trip when the Super Eagles return to action in March. The three-time African champions will resume their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March when they take on Guinea-Bissau in a doubleheader encounter.
Peseiro will hope for a better performance from his side this year after a poor campaign, which saw him lose all his friendly games as the team’s boss. Nigeria currently lead their AFCON qualifying group with six points from two games.
