He said playing for the Super Eagles has always been his dream.

In an interview with the Super Eagles media team, he acknowledged the competition for places in the Nigerian national football team.

Dele-Bashiru attended the Nigeria's U-20 team, Flying Eagles training camp in 2019 but was controversially left out of the World Cup squad.

He said, "I have good experience with the national team, and this is my first time coming back to Nigeria in about 20 years; Nigeria is my home, and I love everything about it.

"I've really been enjoying the training. We have also had some running and physical stuff in the training , I enjoyed it.

"Nigeria is a country of over 200 million population so it's not an easy thing to play for the national team, I'm always proud to play for them.

"Going into every game we have confidence that we can beat the opponents. We will take these games one by one and hopefully we can get the victory in both of them.

"Keep supporting me, hopefully I can show you guys what I'm capable of doing if not now then in the future."

Dele-Bashiru plays for Hatayspor; his seven-goal contributions in eight games earned him a call-up to the senior team under coach Peseiro last October.

The 23-year-old who has 9 goals and 6 assists this season made his Super Eagles debut in a friendly against Mozambique.
