A former Arsenal star was the star of the day as Nigeria lost for the third consecutive match.
Nigeria's Super Eagles B were no match for their Costa Rican counterparts during an international friendly in the early hours of Thursday.
In what was the first-ever encounter between the two countries at senior level, it was Costa Rica that ran out 2-0 winners in the end.
Both goals were scored in either half, the first by Oscar Duarte in the 7th minute and the second by Kendall Watson 17 minutes from time.
Former Arsenal star, Joel Campbell, was the most outstanding player on the pitch after he assisted both goals for his teammates.
Nigeria lose again
Despite putting up a decent fight against the world cup bound side, it ended in defeat for the Super Eagles B, a team made of home based players.
The result ensured Nigeria continued its losing streak, having lost three of the last three matches.
Nigeria has now conceded six goals in the last three matches, scoring just once.
Up next for the Super Eagles is another international friendly against another world cup bound side, Portugal, on the 17th.
