The training camp in Spain will play crucial role for the Super Falcons to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the Olympics.

Waldrum has also made available a talented squad with a good mix of experience and youth, and this camp will help the players come together as a team and get ready for the challenges that lie ahead.

The team will depart Abuja on Thursday and join up with the rest of the playing body and technical staff in Seville, Spain on Friday.

As reported by Pulse Sports, the American coach named his final 18-player squad for the Olympics, led by captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defender Osinachi Ohale, and star striker Asisat Oshoala.

While three players have been placed in the alternate list, other notable inclusions in the Super Falcons squad are defenders Oluwatosin Demehin and Michelle Alozie, midfielders Deborah Abiodun, Halimatu Ayinde, and Toni Payne, as well as forward Esther Okoronkwo.

Nigeria, who are making their first Olympic appearance since 2008, have been drawn in a tough group against Brazil, Spain, and Japan.

The Olympics is widely regarded as the pinnacle of women's football and coach Waldrum and gis Falcons will be determined to make a strong impression and hopefully bring home a medal for Nigeria.
