Chijioke Aniagboso’s dream of playing in Europe has come through after joining Ukrainian Premier League club FC Polissia Zhytomyr.
The Flying Eagles goalkeeper who has had decent performances at U20 AFCON and the ongoing World Cup in Argentina.

According to reports from Complete Sports, the 18-year-old signed a five-year deal that will keep him with the newly-promoted Ukrainian side until the summer of 2025.
It is understood that the club who in the past week gained promotion into the topflight football in Ukraine have been monitoring Aniagboso during the AFCON qualifiers in Egypt earlier in the year.
A statement from the club’s official website read: “FC Polissia has signed a 5-year deal with Nigeria U-20 player Chijoke Aniagboso.
“The 19-year-old goalkeeper is the bronze medalist of the 2023 U-20 African Nations Cup. The goalkeeper played all 6 matches in the tournament in the main team.
“The player has the experience of calls to the national team of Nigeria. He is currently representing his country at the U-20 World Cup.
“Aniagboso will join the squad in preparation for the 2023/24 season.”
Nigeria will be facing an acid test against Argentine in the round of 16 at the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup.
The Nigerian side qualified as third placed side in group D while Argentina had a flawless run of matches in Group A winning a three.
