Wake up! Check out when the Super Falcons will host Algeria in an International Friendly.
Nigeria's senior women's national football team, the Super Falcons, will return to action when they host Algeria in an international friendly match.
The encounter with Algeria will mark the first time the Super Falcons will play a competitive game after the team crashed out of the 2024 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in Paris.
Nigeria's international friendly with Algeria will be a double-header fixture and the Super Falcons will host both matches.
The first match will take place at the Remo Stars’ Sports Complex in Ikenne on Saturday, 26th October, at 3 PM, while the second game will be at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Tuesday, 29th October, by 4 PM.
The match will stir memories of the Aisha Buhari Women’s Tournament held in Lagos in September 2021, which was also the last time the Super Falcons played Grade A friendly matches on home soil.
Super Falcons at the Paris Olympics
Nigeria bowed out in the group stage of the Paris Olympics after they failed to pick a point in a top Group C that had Spain, Brazil, and Japan.
In their fourth Olympic appearance and first in 16 years, the nine-time African champions lost all their matches, falling 1-0 to Brazil and Spain, before being eliminated 3-1 by Japan.
