Ghana will host Nigeria in Accra on Sunday, December 22, with the return leg scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on December 28.

The Kano Pillars midfielder is excited to return to the Super Eagles B squad for the CHAN qualifiers against Ghana.

Ali has a rich history with the CHAN Eagles, representing the team in both the 2014 and 2018 editions.

In 2014, he played an important role in Nigeria's bronze medal finish, while in 2018, he was part of the team that reached the final.

The veteran midfielder, who is 44 years old, is aiming to help Nigeria secure a spot in the tournament.

"I'm very optimistic that this year, by the special grace of God, we will deliver the qualifying ticket and also deliver the trophy for Nigeria," Ali said via the Punch.

"A lot of players want to play for the country at any level but don't have the opportunity. I thank almighty Allah for that experience."

However, Ghana stopped Nigeria from reaching the Africa Nations Championship finals in 2009 and 2023.
