Super Eagles legend Ahmed Musa was involved in three of the goals for Kano Pillars in the one-sided affair against Nigerian champions Rangers.
In 2014, he played an important role in Nigeria's bronze medal finish, while in 2018, he was part of the team that reached the final.
The veteran midfielder, who is 44 years old, is aiming to help Nigeria secure a spot in the tournament.
"I'm very optimistic that this year, by the special grace of God, we will deliver the qualifying ticket and also deliver the trophy for Nigeria," Ali said via the Punch.
"A lot of players want to play for the country at any level but don't have the opportunity. I thank almighty Allah for that experience."
