Ahead of the first phase of the qualification series, head coach Augustine Eguavoen has invited a total of thirty players to camp.
Some of the big names called up include Rivers United defender Steven Mayo, Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Abia Warriors' dynamic striker Sunday Megwo, and Kano Pillars' reliable midfielder Rabiu Ali, who has eight goals this season in the NPFL.
In February 2025, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will host the eighth edition of the continental championship, which is only open to football players who play for teams in their home leagues and have regular contracts.
The team also includes Victor Collins, the defender for Nasarawa United who was picked up for last month's 2025 AFCON qualifying games against Rwanda and the Benin Republic.
On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, all invited athletes are expected to report to the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State.

The team will practice in Remo before playing Ghana's Black Stars B in the first leg of the qualification match on Sunday, December 22, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
On Saturday, December 28, the second leg will be played at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
