The draw sets up an intriguing second leg at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday as Ndah looks to add another silverware to his Pirates collections.

Despite the concession of the equaliser, Ndah's display was described as "solid" by fans of the team who expressed their opinions on social media.

Relebohile Mofokeng opened the scoring for Orlando Pirates.

His leadership at the back was crucial in helping the Pirates secure a draw away from home, a result that keeps them in a strong position for the second leg of the semifinal.

And by wearing the captain's armband for Orlando Pirates, Ndah has etched his name in the club's history books. He becomes only the third Nigerian to captain the prestigious South African side, following in the footsteps of Sam Pam and Wilson Okpara.

Super Eagles Return

Ndah's strong performance comes on the heels of his recall to the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles after a long absence.

Olisa Ndah has not been with the Super Eagles since 2022.

New coach Bruno Labbadia included the defender in his 23-man squad for the upcoming AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

This call-up marks a deserved return for Ndah, who had been absent from the national team setup for an extended period.
