Nigerian Women's second division League get kick-off date and venues

Two stadia picked as match venues for this year’s tournament are Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne and FC Ebiede Stadium in Sagamu – both in Ogun State.

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has confirmed that the NWFL Championship, the league's second level, will take place in Ogun State's Sagamu and Ikenne.

The championship will take place simultaneously from July 7 to July 14 of 2023 at the two venues.

The NWFL hopes to wrap out the 2023 season schedule for the three tiers of the women's league in Nigeria with the next Championship, which will take place over a month after the Premiership hosted in Asaba.

Tthe Chief Operating Officer of the NWFL, Modupe Shabi, confirmed that the draws and pre-match meetings, the NWFL Championship teams are scheduled to arrive in Ogun State on Friday, July 7.

Three matches from Groups A and B would be played on Match Day One on Saturday, July 8, and three matches from each group would be played on Match Day Two on Sunday, July 9.

She added that rest Day is on Monday, July 10, and Match Day Three is on Tuesday, July 11, with three matches to be played.

Delta Queens wins NWFL

Three matches are scheduled for Match Day Four on Wednesday, July 12, while Thursday, July 13, will be the second Rest Day.

The final three matches are played on Match Day Five, which takes place on Friday, July 14.

The NWFL C.O.O. stated that 12 registered clubs will compete in Ogun State for this year's Championship. He also stated that two teams with the most points at the end of the NWFL Championship on July 14 in Ogun State will be promoted to the NWFL Premiership.
