Lekki United begin their NLO journey with a win against Ablaze Football Club on Wednesday at the Maracana Stadium.
Nigeria's third-tier league, the Nationwide League (NLO), and club, Lekki United, have announced a shirt sponsorship deal with sports betting giant Nairabet.
The club confirmed the deal through its official Twitter handle and said, "The club is delighted to announce that it has secured a 3-year shirt sponsorship deal with the sports betting giant."
Pulse Sports reports that the league started on Wednesday, May 3rd, with the curtain raiser, a Kano Derby between Kano Pillars Jnr and Kwankwasiya FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

NLO CEO Olushola Ogunnowo, said the primary objectives of the league are to reposition the league as a key resource base for other local and international leagues, professionalize its operations, and generate interest from corporate organizations.

He added that to achieve these objectives, the league has adopted a growth strategy anchored on good corporate governance, administration, and management reforms, the implementation of these reforms in its season operations, and the activation of strong brand-building initiatives.

NLO will officially kick off on Wednesday, May 3rd, across the 33 Stadium League venues drawn from the 6 geo-zones.
He said, “Our goal is to make NLO the access market for grassroots football in Nigeria and the youth football target market. We aim to produce the highest number of youths participating in the NLO at the grassroots level and continue to strive for and maintain official recognition of the Youth League from FIFA and increased interest from foreign clubs because of our Youth League.”
Over 400 teams and academics will battle for Nigeria's second-division league, the Nigeria National League (NNL), at the end of the season.
