Chelsea have reportedly contacted Bayern Munich over the signing of young forward Mathys Tel.
The 19-year-old joined the Bavarians in the summer of 2022 for a reported €20 million. However, the striker-cum-winger has struggled to break into the side. He managed six league starts last season and has only gotten two this term.

Premier League: Chelsea vs Bournemouth prediction, head-to-head, team news, possible line-ups, and betting tips
The Blues head into Tuesday’s league clash against the resilient Cherries, hoping to end their recent slump. Here are predictions, team news, betting tips, and possible line-ups for the game.
Chelsea's interest
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea, in keeping with their youth-focused transfer strategy, are interested in Tel and have asked Bayern Munich about him.
According to the report, a swap deal has been suggested between both parties and the Chelsea player the Bavarians are interested in is Christopher Nkunku, who currently leads the line for Enzo Maresca’s second team.
Tel is reportedly determined to succeed at Bayern Munich; however, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea can convince him to ditch Germany for England.
Meanwhile, the signing of Tel could effectively put paid to Chelsea’s pursuit of Victor Osimhen. According to Super Eagles legend Mikel Obi, the Blues were close to landing the Nigerian last summer but failed and will return for him in the future.
