Kylian Mbappé has attributed his decreased runs in behind defenses to changes in the team's lineup, specifically noting the absence of Paul Pogba.
In a revealing press conference ahead of France's highly anticipated EURO 2024 quarterfinal clash against Portugal, star forward Kylian Mbappé has shed light on his altered playing style, attributing it to the absence of midfielder Paul Pogba.
Mbappé's comments come as France prepares to face the 2016 European Champions, led by his mentor Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mbappe cites Pogba’s absence as reason for altered style
Speaking to the media, the Real Madrid-bound superstar explained;
"Why do I not make runs in behind anymore? It depends on the team," Mbappe stated in a post on Twitter.
When we had Pogba for example, I could just blindly make a run and he would find me. Now I have to adapt to a different situation."
The 25-year-old has been under scrutiny for his performance at the tournament, having scored just one goal - a penalty - in three matches so far.
The absence of Pogba, a key figure in France's 2018 World Cup-winning squad, has been keenly felt.
The Juventus midfielder is currently serving a four-year ban for doping after testing positive for the banned substance DHEA in August.
Despite his suspension, Pogba was invited to watch France's round-of-16 victory over Belgium.
Mbappé and Pogba's partnership was instrumental in France's World Cup triumph six years ago.
However, with Pogba sidelined since September due to the provisional suspension, which was later confirmed as a four-year ban, the French team has had to adjust its tactical approach.
France is aiming to reclaim European glory and all eyes have been on Mbappé to see if he can rediscover his goal-scoring form in the absence of Pogba's precise passing.
The quarterfinal against Portugal promises to be a pivotal moment for both the player and the team as they navigate this new dynamic on the pitch.
