Stanley Nwabali's latest social media post left many Nigerians curious about his intentions.
Super Eagles first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali’s latest social media post raised eyebrows after he pledged to disappoint entitled people on the eve of a Super Eagles matchday.
The 28-year-old has been Nigeria's main man between the sticks after he shone at the African Cup of Nations earlier in the year. He is set to reprise the role later today when Nigeria host The Mediterranean Knights of Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo for the first of a two-legged AFCON qualifier clash.

What Nwabali said
Popularised by Victor Osimhen before he ‘cleaned up his act’ and more recently by Bayer Leverkusen star Victor Boniface, Nigerian football stars are in the habit of accompanying their social media posts with memes, funny quotes, or motivational texts.
With the team camped in the Land of Promise ahead of the game, the players and media houses have regularly updated Nigerians on the happenings through pictures and clips.
Nwabali posted one such clip, in training ahead of the game, and accompanied it with a curious caption. “Make sure you disappoint an entitled person today! International duties,” the Chippa United goalie shared on X.
Reactions to the post
While Nwabali was most likely not talking about disappointing Nigerians with his performance in the game against Libya, fans of the Super Eagles still camped under his post to make sure.
One said, “Chai You no quick talk this thing😭 I don rush go Carry una straight. Guy you don add , you go fit dive tomorrow like this,” informing the former Enyimba man he counts on him for his betslip.
Another said, “Nwabali, it's unwise how u've now turned to motivational speaker after disappointing ur country #AFCON.More unwise y'all do very well in clubs yet perform poorly for SuperEagles. This isn't patriotic.Keeping isn't abt 4 corner head.Grow urself.Think smartUr future is still bright.Bé wise.Dont be unwise.”
