Sundowns and Tanzanian giants Simba are the only two sides from the Sub-saharan region that will be drawn on Wednesday night in the quarterfinal matchups.

The North African region has continued to show their supremacy on the continent, with six of the eight teams in the quarterfinals coming from the UNAF region.

Egyptian side and ten-time record champions started slow but a late surge saw them squeeze back into the mathematics and qualified behind Mamelodi Sundowns in Group B.

Sundowns and Tanzanian giants Simba are the only two sides from the Sub-saharan region that will be drawn on Wednesday night in the quarterfinal matchups.

Sundowns qualified as the group's top seed ahead of Al Ahly, Al Hilal (Sudan) and Coton Sport from Cameroon.

On the other hand, Simba outwitted Guinean champions AC Horoya and Vipers to finish second behind Raja Casablanca.

The other quarterfinalists are defending champions Wydad Casablanca, Esperance from Tunisia, JS Kabylie and CR Belouizdad (both from Algeria).
