The Gunners have turned their attention to Olympique de Marseille forward Elye Wahi. The French striker, known for his explosive potential, is now among Arsenal's options to bolster their frontline.

Wahi emerges as surprise Gunners target

The 22-year-old Elye Wahi has emerged as a potential solution to Arsenal's striking issues, according to reports from La Provence.

Arsenal were impressed by Wahi’s performances during his time at RC Lens, particularly in last season’s UEFA Champions League group stage.

In those matches, Wahi showcased his ability by finding the net against the Gunners, leaving a lasting impression on the Premier League side.

Wahi joined Marseille from Lens in the summer for a fee of €25 million, but his adaptation to life at the Vélodrome has been challenging.

With three goals in 13 appearances, he has struggled to secure a regular starting spot, falling behind Neal Maupay in Marseille's pecking order.

Competition for Wahi’s Signature

Despite these challenges, Arsenal reportedly see potential in Wahi and believe he could be a valuable addition to their squad.

Arsenal will face competition in their pursuit of Wahi. Fellow Premier League club West Ham United have also shown interest, reportedly contacting Marseille about a loan move with a near-mandatory €25 million buy option.

West Ham’s interest comes amidst their own striker issues, following Niclas Füllkrug’s injury and Michail Antonio’s car crash.

Arsenal’s interest in other forwards, including Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško, appears to have fizzled out, making Wahi a more realistic option.
