Solanke has trained with some of the world's top strikers but considers a former teammate to be in a league of his own.

Former Chelsea and Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke has praised Bayer Munich's Harry Kane, calling him the best finisher he has ever played with.

Solanke, who joined Tottenham this summer, has trained alongside some of the world's best strikers during his career but believes Kane is in a league of his own.

"Obviously Harry Kane," Solanke told Sky Sports when asked about the best finisher he's seen.

"His finishing is just one of the best. We see that all the time and his finishing is just incredible."

The compliment is a great one for Kane, especially considering Solanke has been a teammate of Mohamed Salah and the rest of Liverpool's formidable forward line.

Additionally, during his time at Chelsea, Solanke witnessed the finishing prowess of Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba, and Diego Costa.

Solanke is hopeful of helping Tottenham to win laurels

Solanke is hopeful that he can contribute to Tottenham's success and replicate some of Kane's achievements at the club.

He also expressed admiration for Son Heung-min's ability and leadership qualities.

"It's something so rare to be that good on right foot and left foot, not many players in the world can do that," Solanke said of Son.

"To be that two-footed and be great at finishing with both of them is incredible. He's a great leader, one of the nicest guys I've met, to be honest. On the pitch, you see what he does on the weekends and it's the same in training."

Defensively, Solanke named his former Liverpool teammate Virgil van Dijk as the toughest defender he has faced.

"He's just got everything, big, strong, good on the ball, aggressive. I think he's definitely one of the best defenders in our time and I'd say he's probably the most difficult," Solanke said.

Solanke has played for England at all youth levels, including under-21 and senior teams. He won the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where he was awarded the Golden Ball for best player. He also made one appearance for the senior national team in 2017.
