NPFL: Master Finidi George defeats his apprentice; Remo Stars maintain top spot

Former Super Eagles coach Finidi defeated his former assistant during his time at Enyimba.

Matchday four of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) witnessed several dramas as former Super Eagles coach, Finidi George defeated his apprentice, Yemi Olarenwaju of Enyimba.

Rivers United defeated former champions Enyimba 2-0 in a clash between two experienced coaches, Finidi George and Yemi Olanrewaju.

Ubong Friday and Seiyefa Jackson scored for Rivers United, who now occupy second position in the league.

Remo 2-1 Rangers

Remo Stars continued their impressive start to the NPFL season, defeating the defending champions Rangers International 2-1 in their matchday four clash.

The game played at the Remo Stars stadium, Ikenne, Ogun state, saw Alex Oyowah break the deadlock for the home team in the 51st minute.

However, Kenechukwu Agu levelled the score for Rangers four minutes later from the penalty spot.

Tochukwu Michael secured the victory for Remo with a powerful shot in the 60th minute, extending their winning streak to four games and maintaining their position at the top of the table.

In another notable match, Abia Warriors secured their first win of the season under Imama Amapakabo, defeating Kano Pillars 2-0.

Katsina United also recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Lobi Stars, thanks to goals from Azeez Falolu and Nazifi Yahaya.

El-Kanemi Warriors, the President Federation Cup champions, came from behind to draw 2-2 against Plateau United in their home match.
