NWFL 2023-2024 season will kick off on November

The Chairman of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) , Nkechi Obi, has declared that the league will empoer over 100,000 girls with Education and football.

Obi disclosed the plans during the NWFL Media Briefing in Abuja and revealed that the NWFL 2023–2024 season will kick off on November.

According to her, "So when everything is set, we are leveraging men who identify with women's or the women's projects above under the equal. So those are just two stakeholder platforms.

"In addition to also talking to people outside of sports development agencies are already speaking towards women's football, the publicity around women's football right now globally as really such people to come talk to us and I'm talking about US development agencies who see women's football as the plan of achieving goals.

They are not looking for profits. All they need is to ascertain development goals, they can say they reach 100,000 girls through women's football and they can tick the box. So we give them an extra platform.

"Maybe they tried through education or through sports they come in, have achieved the goals to us and that's funny enough that ones that are actually talking about more since this so yeah that's good idea how the same thing we do that is what we do here.

"We hope to encourage our clubs, we will encourage every club to get a media officer because that's how you can channel all these other to get your girls to the future that we. Have inside that."

Delta Queens are the defending champions of the NWFL.
