Nzoia coach remains optimistic after a vital second win boosts morale and league position.

Nzoia Sugar FC head coach Godfrey Oduor exhibited an unwavering optimism regarding his team’s prospects following a crucial victory this past Saturday.

This second win of the season came as a much-needed catalyst after a series of nine winless games, marking a turning point for the Sugar Millers in their campaign to ascend the league rankings.

The win against the formidable Nairobi Eastlands club has injected a new spirit into the team, with Oduor acknowledging the pressure but emphasizing unity and support.

“Of course, there is pressure in football. Last season, we had a good team that finished in a strong position, but those players are no longer with us,” he stated in a post-match interview.

“What we need is to encourage the players and the Nzoia family to come together to support the team this season.”

The game itself was a tight affair, with the Nzoia outfit showing resilience and tactical acumen. Second-half substitute Emmanuel Osoro became the hero of the day, finding the net in a critical moment that saw him outmaneuver Kariobangi Sharks’ goalkeeper Bernard Jairo to score.

This victory propels Nzoia Sugar FC to the 14th spot, a leap forward from the relegation mire, and presents a beacon of hope as they prepare for their next challenge.

Looking ahead, the Sugar Millers are set to face Shabana at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.

With their opponents, Tore Bobe, showing inconsistent form, Nzoia has legitimate reasons to aim for another set of full points, which could further improve their standing and, more importantly, their confidence.

In contrast, Kariobangi Sharks, stung by their recent defeat, are preparing to redeem themselves against Bandari in the upcoming week eleven’s matchday showdown.

The Sharks, known for their resilience, are expected to regroup and come back stronger in the quest for victory.
