The gaffer claims everyone has written Nzoia Sugar off in the title race.

Nzoia Sugar FC tactician Salim Babu is confident that his side can claim their maiden league title despite trailing log leaders Gor Mahia and reigning champions Tusker.

The Sugar Millers are going into the game on a good run of form, as they are yet to taste defeat in their last nine games.

Speaking ahead of the match, Babu said he is optimistic that his charges will have a good game against Leopards as they continue chasing for the league title.

“Our strategy is bagging maximum points in each game as we handle a game at a time. We have prepared for AFC Leopards, the morale is high, and we want to go all the way,” he said.

Babu also addressed doubters saying that the Football Kenya Federation Premier League title battle is not a two-horse race.

“I am happy that most people are focusing on the top two teams (Gor Mahia and Tusker) and ranking us as outsiders in the title race, but we will prove them wrong.

They will get shocked in the remaining matches as we will sneak in between the two and win the title.” he added.

The Sugar Millers have punched above their weight this season, as the club is ranked third on the league standings.

Nzoia has accumulated 54 points from 28 matches they have played this season.

A win for the Sugar Millers against Leopards will see them move to the second position if Tusker loses their match against Kakamega Homeboyz and reach the 60-point mark.
