Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Patrick Odhiambo has noted that he will take positives from their goalless draw against Nairobi City Stars on Saturday.
Having unexpectedly replaced John Baraza as Homeboyz head coach last week, Odhiambo's first task was to try and get the club's campaign back on track after defeat to Bandari on Wednesday, February 8.
Stephen Opoku and Chris Masinza had opportunities to win it for Homeboyz late on, but both players were unable to find the back of the net.
"We are disappointed we didn't win but the performance was good. We pressed well from the front to the back and controlled it though we lost many chances.
I thank God for that one point as it is just at the start, and next time I will see what to do. Our next match is against Vihiga, and we will go all out for maximum points.
This was my first match in charge, and I am still learning my players. Changes in the style of play in football come gradually," said Odhiambo.

He had briefly served as the Homeboyz assistant coach at the start of the 2020/21 season before leaving for Tanzanian Premier League side Biashara United.
His last coaching job was with Tanzanian top-flight side Prisons FC, where he was fired following a series of poor results.
Odhiambo has previously coached Western Stima, Agro Chemicals, Muhoroni Youth, Chemelil Sugar, and Sony Sugar.
Abana Abeingo will next take on Vihiga Bullets on Sunday, February 25, at Bukhungu Stadium.
