Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Erik Ten Hag has been in the transfer market for a goalkeeper after David De Gea failed to sign a new contract and left the club.

United identified Andre Onana as their number one target and made contact with Inter Milan for his availability.

The Red Devils have been in negotiation with the Italian giants for some weeks and had their bid rejected.

After several weeks of negotiations, Man United got their man and paid a €51 million fee plus €4 million add-ons to Inter for Onana.

Man United replaces De Gea with Onana

Manchester United have found a replacement for David De Gea who left Old Trafford after his contract expired in June.

The Red Devils completed the signing of the Cameroonian and have officially announced the signing on their official Twitter page.

Andre Onana was signed for a fee worth €55 million including add-ons after Inter Milan insisted on the price tag.

Onana joined Inter Milan in 2022 and made 41 appearances, keeping 19 clean sheets for the Italian giants.

Ten Hag has been an admirer of the Inter Milan goalkeeper and was his manager at Ajax before leaving for Man United.

The Cameroonian has finally reunited with his old boss and will be hoping to rekindle their Ajax connection at Old Trafford.

Man United are not done in the transfer market despite the signing of Andre Onana, they are also looking to sign a striker before the end of the transfer window and have started negotiating with Atalanta for Rasmus Højlund.
