Manchester United have officially confirmed the signing of midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea on a 5-year contract for a total package of £60million.
After weeks of negotiations, Mason Mount has finally completed his move to Manchester United from Chelsea, signing a five-year contract with the option of a further year.
Mount abandons Chelsea for Manchester United
The England international turned down a number of contract offers from Chelsea due to financial differences and made it clear his preferred destination was Manchester United.
Mount, who had been at Chelsea since he was 6 years old, came into prominence under Frank Lampard while on loan at Derby County. When Lampard was appointed Chelsea boss in 2019, he made Mount a prominent part of his attack.
The 24-year-old fully blossomed into a top-level attacking midfielder under Thomas Tuchel, and he was the club's best player during their Champions League winning run in 2021.
The 24-year-old midfielder has made 279 club appearances, scoring 58 goals and contributing 53 assists.
