The sports writers advised the state government to upgrade the sports facilities in the state.
The Ogun state sports writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has advised the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, to start preparing for the National Sports Festival.
SWAN in a communique after its January Congress held at MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto Abeokuta advised Abiodun to upgrade the state sports facilities.
The Association added that the state should partner with them for effective successful hosting.
"The Congress urged the state government to start preparing for the hosting of the 2024 national sports festival in earnest while calling on the state government to partner with the association to ensure successful hosting," the communique read.
Upgrade sports Facilities - SWAN advise Ogun Govt
The sports writers said further that the state government should upgrade the facilities of the MKO Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta, and other facilities in the state.

"The Congress observed the ongoing coverage of the popular stands at the MKO Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta, and urged the state government to take a step further by upgrading facilities at the Stadium and other Stadia across the State." the communique continued
Ogun to host 2024 National Sports Festival
Ogun state won the bid to host the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival during the closing ceremony of the 21st edition in Delta state.

Ogun state beats five other state to win the hosting right with Oyo state on standby if the gateway state failed to prepare.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare confirmed Ogun state as the next host of the biennial sporting event at the closing ceremony of the festival in Asaba.
The state hosted the festival in 2006 which was classified as one of the best in the history of the game.
