Ojera joined the side from URA FC in January, managed five goals, seven assists and a Player of the Month gong as 'Gikundiro' went on to clinch the Peace Cup, Rwanda's domestic cup.
Uganda Cranes winger Joackim Ojera has expressed his willingness to stay at Rwandan side Rayon Sports after an impressive loan spell at the club during the just-concluded season.
Ojera joined the side from URA FC in January, managed five goals, seven assists and a Player of the Month gong as 'Gikundiro' went on to clinch the Peace Cup, Rwanda's domestic cup.
"It's been a great season for me; helping the team return to the continent after four years by winning the Peace Cup is great; the love this side is massive, and I have loved every bit of it," Ojera told Pulse Sports.
"I have concentrated more outside Uganda and can't return there; currently, my focus is on weighing options outside the Uganda Premier League."
Ojera also guided Rayon Sport to a third-place league finish, and when asked if he considered extending his stay at the side, he revealed Rayon was his first priority if they approached him.
"They approached me about a permanent move, but I requested them to wait for the season to get done; they're my priority, but I am open to listening to other offers elsewhere," he noted.
Rayon Sport beat league champions APR FC in Huye on Saturday to win their first domestic cup since 2016 and their 11th in the club's history.
The 25-year-old was at URA FC doing well until he was suspended alongside Shafik Kagimu for failure to sign a club's memorandum of understanding in December 2022.
It remains to be seen if Ojera will return to see out the remaining bit of his contract with the tax collectors.
