Okoth has revealed the tactical reasons his side brushed aside Darajani Gogo on Friday afternoon.
Shabana head coach Sammy Okoth has revealed the reasons his side brushed aside Darajani Gogo comprehensively in a match played in a packed Police Sacco Stadium in South C, Nairobi on Friday afternoon.
Two of Shabana’s three goals came from direct set piece situations, with Peter “Maestro Ogechi scoring the first free kick and assisting the second as the Gusii-based outfit consolidated their lead at the top of the table.
“ It was a good game because we won,” he said, “ I came knowing that these players we had were born players so it was necessary we had to stay patient,” he added.

FKFPL: “I am no flower girl to give away trophies!” Rangers boss declares after impressive record against 'big teams'
Posta Rangers have frustrated both Gor Mahia and Tusker, title chasing teams, from getting all three points in the second half of the season.
“We tried to exploit them using fast breaks and it worked because we knew they would not play the way they did in the first half. I am very happy.
“ Any time we had a first break, we knew we would either get fouled or get the ball into the opponent’s initial third.
“ We knew there would be free kicks with fast breaks.Against Naivas at Camp Toyoyo, we employed the same tactics and Peter Ogechi scored. So it is no fluke. We punished them using their mistakes.”

FKFPL ‘We nearly qualified for AFCON’ - Zedekiah Zico Otieno looks back on his time as Kenya head coach
The former Gor Mahia defender nearly made Harambee Stars qualify for the 2012 AFCON as head coach.
The first goal emerged when Shabana quickly turned over possession as Darajani Gogo tried to build from the back, before winning a foul which Ogechi expertly converted.
The second goal was scored in quite similar version when Gogo carelessly gave possession away, which allowed Ogechi head into the far post for his 14th goal of the season, before Nehemiah Onchiri put the result beyond doubt when he headed in Shabana’s third goal six minutes from time after a neat exchange of passes in the box.
The result now means that Shabana are level on points with leaders Murang’a seal, but with two games in hand over their fellow promoted side.
