Nigerian defender Ola Aina is ahead of schedule in his injury recovery journey for Torino.
Nigerian defender Ola Aina is expected to recover from injury well ahead of schedule with February 5 set as his resumption date for his Italian club, Torino.
The Super Eagles fullback has been out since October when he picked up a muscle injury in a win against Udinese and has been working hard in the recovery process ever since.
The 26-year-old is now being reported to be in line for a return to action when Torino host Udinese on February 5.
Ola Aina to make injury return
A report by La Gazzetta dello Sport gave updates on the situation of Torino’s current injured players including Ola Aina.
According to the report, Ola Aina is “working with great will and encouraging results to be able to place himself at Juric's disposal with a couple of weeks ahead of schedule.”
Updates were also provided on two of Aina’s Torino teammates, Sasa Lukic and Valentin Lazaro who are both also on the mend.
Lukic is said to be suffering from “blunt trauma sustained in the posterior part of the leg” and will be monitored on a day-to-day basis and is expected to recover in “about ten days and then resume at full capacity.”
Lazaro on the other hand is said to have “problem with the ligaments in his right knee but clearly improving: perhaps he will return at the end of February.”
While he continues to recover from his injury, Ola Aina has been involved in some community work in Turin.
The defender was at a meet and greet with Torino fans along with his teammate David Zima on Wednesday afternoon.
The meet and greet was organised by the club at the Torino FC Store in Corso Agnelli and had more than a hundred supporters in line to meet Aina.
