]The Olympic Champion’s opinion is sure to spark even more debate just over a month since Noah Lyles’ “world champions” jibe aimed at NBA players triggered a lot of stars into rubbishing his sentiments.

Reigning Olympic 800 meter champion Athing Mu has made a daring remark on the difficulty of the  racing category she specializes in, describing it as ‘the hardest event in track’.

Mu, who is the youngest woman in history to win both the Olympic and world titles in an individual track and field event, appeared to be in the mood to ruffle a few feathers when she posted a picture on her instagram page accompanied by the rather provocative caption.

“The 800m is the hardest event in track. Quote me,”  the caption read.

As expected, the caption naturally sparked debate in her comments section. Although most of the users seemed to agree with her in efforts to shower her with praise, some users naturally disagreed.

One of her fans begged to differ, saying the 10,000 meters category was the hardest there is in track and field.

“How come? I thought it is 10000 meters,” the comment read.

Another user also thought that the 400 meters category was the hardest, simply commenting: “ Naw...the 400 is,”

Another suggested that the 400 meters hurdles race was the toughest instead, quoting : “400 hurdles big dawg,”

Coach Metamorphosis, another user who replied, stated “I am an 800 and 400 c/v runner but I consider the 1500 to be the hardest test on the track.”

One user named Derrick Rubis appeared to challenge Mu to try taking part in the steeplechase, 5000 and 10000 meter category races and then compare notes.

“Try racing the Steeplechase, 5k & 10k then come back & tell me that the 800 is the toughest track event."

Arjun Natarajan believes that it is the 3000 meter steeplechase event that is the hardest.

“It’s obviously the steeplechase — if it was easier more people would do it but nobody does.”

Her opinion is sure to spark even more debate just over a month since Noah Lyles’ “world champions” jibe aimed at NBA players triggered a lot of basketball stars into rubbishing his sentiments.

Mu won the Olympic 800 meters gold medal held in Tokyo in 2021, before following it up with another gold at the World Athletics Championships held in Oregon in 2022
