Benson Omala and Kalvin Ochieng scored late as Gor Mahia run out 2-0 winners against Nyanza Combined to claim the Eliud Owalo Super Cup.
The match, played Nyilima Grounds in Asembo, Siaya County, was sponsored by the Eliud Owalo Foundation which recently came to the aid of Gor Mahia by purchasing a new bus for the club.
Gor Mahia used the friendly match as part of their warm up ahead of the resumption of the second leg of the FKF Premier League and did not exert themselves a lot as the first half ended goalless.

K’Ogalo have set an unbeaten record in the league this year, which puts them on course to replicate their 2015 season when they won it unbeaten.
The home side kept it tight at the back before K’Ogalo broke their resistance late on when Omala and Ochieng found the target.
“We were also honoured by the presence of Gor Mahia legends Peter Dawo, Bob Ogolla, George Onyango 'Fundi', Tobias Ocholla 'Jua Kali', Sammy Owino 'Kempes', Isaiah Omondi 'Janabi', and David Ochieng 'Kamoga',” said ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo after the match.
The final attracted a large crowd which withstood the rains to watch the match with both teams being awarded Ksh400,000 for their efforts.
