The Ondo state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Bamidele Ologunloluwa has challenged Akure's Sunshine Queens Football Club to put in an all-out effort to win the championship League in Ogun State so they can return to the elite women's League, the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).
Pulse Sports reported that the Nigeria Women Football League Championship will take place simultaneously from July 7 to July 14, 2023, at the two venues.
The Chief Operating Officer of the NWFL, Modupe Shabi, confirmed that after the draws and pre-match meetings, the NWFL Championship teams are scheduled to arrive in Ogun State on Friday, July 7.
Three matches from Groups A and B would be played on Match Day One on Saturday, July 8, and three matches from each group would be played on Match Day Two on Sunday, July 9.

The commissioner made this statement while bidding goodbye to the players and their officials before the championship.
Ologunloluwa said it was regrettable that the team was in relegation, but that this is a fantastic opportunity for the club to return to the NWFL, and he urged the players to take the championship playoffs seriously by treating every game like a final.
He said, “You must all go out there to play your heart out, there is not room for loss, draw is not even accepted, go all out and win all your matches.
“Your opponents are not better than you, it’s a game of same numbers, you must not give room for mistakes, you are all champions and you must prove it by returning the team to the elite league.
“I challenge you all to go to Ogun State and make your fans happy and also make your coaches happy, if you like your coaches win for them. Win each match and get N200,000 with extra N50,000 for first goal scorer in the team.
