The club has announced that at least five members, including Besigye have paid the shs.1 million subscription for the platinum membership this season.

Onduparaka Football Club has confirmed that former Forum for Democratic Change presidential flag bearer Kizza Besigye has paid his subscription fee for the season.

The Caterpillars were relegated from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League last season and have started with a mixed result in the betPawa Big League this season.

They lost 1-0 to Blacks Power in Lira on match day one before recovering to beat Kyetume 3-1 in Arua last weekend.

The club has announced that at least five members, including Besigye have paid the shs.1 million subscription for the platinum membership this season.

They include the State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization, Evelyn Anite and club directors Benjamin Nyakuni and Mercy Munduru.

Onduparaka will return to action on Sunday 8th, October with a home fixture against Kataka at the Ababet Greenlight Stadium in Arua.

Old Love

Besigye first declared his love for the club in December 2016, joining the green wave that swept the country after their maiden qualification to the Uganda Premier League.

He made his promises good on February 4th 2017, when he made it to Namboole to watch the Caterpillars beat Kenyan champions Gor Mahia 2-0 in an international friendly.

The politician contributed shs2 million as his membership to the club on that day.

Since then, the Manchester United diehard has often posted messages on his Facebook or X account supporting the club.
