Victor Osimhen has tipped Super Eagles and Atalanta star Ademola Lookman to win the CAF award following his Ballon d’Or nomination.
Lookman has been an inspiration to Atalanta, having helped them win the Europa League last season and making history by scoring a hattrick in the final.
The winger has continued his last season form, scoring two goals for the Super Eagles in their AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic.
His impressive performance has led to his name being included in the top 30 Ballon d’Or nominee list.

Osimhen backs Lookman
Osimhen discussed Ademola Lookman's Ballon d'Or nomination and the forward's odds of taking home the 2024 African Footballer of the Year award for Atalanta.
Osimhen told Counter Attack Podcast, "To see Ademola in this kind of situation, I am really happy for him because I know few of his stories and also in terms of football he deserves every good thing that comes his way because he's also a very good guy.
"He's a passionate guy, he does his job diligently. I'm really happy for him but of course we all know he's going to win the African Player of the Year. One hundred percent for sure, he will win it.
"I already told him he's bringing it home and he deserves it as he has done so well for us It's a win for Nigeria because he has represented us well.
“He has carried the team so he deserves his moment and I pray to God that he's really going to win it."
Lookman’s two incredible goals in the Super Eagles' 3-0 victory over the Republic of Benin on Saturday in Uyo increased his chances of winning African Player of the Year.
Meanwhile, Osimhen played his first minute of football for over three months in Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Benin Republic.
Less than six minutes after his introduction, the striker announced his comeback to the national team with a goal.
He will be looking to start for the Super Eagles when they face Rwanda in their second AFCON qualifying match.
