Southampton’s new boss Ivan Juric has vowed to implement a high-intensity brand of football when he takes charge of the Saints.

As he bids to guide the Premier League strugglers out of the relegation zone, the former Roma boss, who will be in charge of Super Eagles stars Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu, will be hoping to change the fortunes of the failing side.

Juric hopes to implement style at Southampton

The Saints’ new gaffer plans to implement a fast-paced, high-pressing game that demands everything from his players.

Speakng after completing his move to Saint Mary’s Juric explained his playing style saying, "When I was young I liked death metal music a lot, and that's something I think my style of football is like.

"Work hard, press hard, play good, be intense, all this stuff. I think [the players] can do it.

Juric faces tough task ahead

Sitting rock bottom with just six points from 17 matches, Southampton are eight points adrift of safety and staring down the barrel of relegation.

Juric clearly understands the gravity of the situation, saying, “I know it will be a very tough job. Nobody has stayed in the Premier League from this situation in history.”

However, the Croatian manager is determined to defy the odds, aiming to make his side “do something exceptional.”
