Victor Boniface was impressed with his friend and national teammate Victor Osimhen's form for Galatasaray.

Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has expressed admiration for his fellow Nigerian and Super Eagles teammate, Victor Osimhen, following his impressive performance for Galatasaray at the weekend.

As reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria, in their recent Super Lig match, Osimhen, who is on loan from Napoli, played a key role in Galatasaray's 2-1 victory over Basaksehir, showing his importance after missing a previous cup match due to rest.

In the game, Osimhen demonstrated his playmaking abilities, notably assisting Baris Alper Yilmaz with a clever pass that led to the opening goal.

Despite Basaksehir equalising early in the second half, Galatasaray quickly regained the lead and maintained their advantage until the final whistle, further solidifying their position at the top of the Turkish league standings.

Following another standout display, Boniface took to Instagram to celebrate Osimhen's contributions.

His comment, “Opor,” a term reflecting excitement and approval in Nigerian slang, showed his appreciation for Osimhen's talent and impact on the field.

Victor Boniface praised his namesake again.

This interaction continues the wonderful bond between the two players, who not only support each other professionally but also share a playful friendship off the pitch.

The 24-year-old Boniface last played competitive football in Nigeria’s infamous 2-1 defeat to Rwanda back in November 2024.

Meanwhile, in a related development, Boniface, who is still out due to the injury picked up last year on duty with the Super Eagles, could not hide his admiration for clubmate Nathan Tella.

Boniface watched from home as Tella inspired his Leverkusen side to a brilliant 3-2 win against Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park.

Tella’s goal came after just 25 seconds to open the floodgates, leaving his teammate Boniface shocked in admiration as he took to his X, formerly, Twitter, to react with a two-word message as reported by Pulse Sport.
