However, the Oga Boys regrouped and came out rejuvenated in the second half, equalising in the 58th minute thanks to an impressive goal from Shola Delani, who capitalised on a goalmouth scramble.
With the momentum shifting in their favour, pushed hard for the winner, keeping Shooting Stars on the back foot.
The decisive moment came in the 88th minute when super sub-Rivio combined brilliantly with left-back Austin, who was also a standout performer in the match.
Rivio's well-placed header broke the hearts of the travelling fans and secured a memorable victory for Ikorodu City.
This win marks Ikorodu's third consecutive victory in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) and their fourth successive home win, propelling them to eighth place in the league standings with 17 points.
In contrast, Shooting Stars now sit in 12th place, two points behind their rivals.
