Nico Williams to Barcelona — Oshoala links Spanish winger to her ex club
Super Falcons ace Asisat Oshoala plays transfer journalist, as she linked Athletic Club's Nico Williams to Barcelona.
Barcelona make Nico Williams priority
The Blaugrana are in the market for a left winger and have been linked with a number of options.
Sporting director Deco is said to be a huge fan of Liverpool's Luis Diaz and he is one of the players linked with Barcelona in that position.
They have also been linked with Williams, and according to a report from Relevo's Alex Pintanel, the player’s performances in Europe have placed him at the top of the club's list this summer, suggesting they will make a serious effort to land him.
Williams scored and assisted in the 4-1 victory against Georgia tonight, spurring fans to urge the club to land the Basque winger. Super Falcons Asisat Oshoala did the same, as she tweeted “Nico to Barcelona.. here we go.”
It could all be wishful thinking for the Blaugrana and their fans, however, given their well-reported financial straits. Nico has a reported €58 million release clause and is also said to be demanding high wages.
