Victor Osimhen scored his 13th Serie A goal of the season as Napoli beat Salernitana 2-0.
Napoli became only the fourth team to reach 50 points halfway into the season (19 points) thanks to a 2-0 win away at Salernitana.
The visitors were inspired by goals in each half by Di Lorenzo and the in-form Victor Osimhen were enough to secure a third consecutive league win and 16th of the season so far.
Osimhen's 48th-minute strike was his 13th in Serie A so far, at least four more than any other player in the league, extending his scoring run to three league games.
Salernitana 0-2 Napoli
Salernitana were coming off the back of a 8-2 drubbing at hands of Atalanta but table-topping Napoli weren't in a sympathetic mood as Osimhen forced Guillermo Ochoa into an early save to signal their intent.
Osimhen did beat Ochoa in the first half but his impressive finish from a tight angle was ruled out for a marginal offside.
They finally took the lead after Frank Anguissa’s cutback found Di Lorenzo, who drilled home his first Serie A goal since November 2021 to open the scoring.
Napoli started the second half as they ended the first and their pressure paid dividends just three minutes after the break when Osimhen rebounded home after Eljif Elmas's effort came off the post.
Salernitana’s best chance of a consolation goal came when Piątek’s strike was tipped onto the post by Meret with ten minutes to go and Napoli would hold on for a win and clean sheet away from home.
The result gives Napoli a 12-point lead as they target a first Scudetto in more than three decades, on the back of their best-ever first half to a 38-game top-flight season.
