What Van Dijk said
The Netherlands international is set to captain Liverpool to their second Premier League triumph, as they are currently 13 points above second-placed Arsenal, with six games to go, and he is already thinking of future conquests.
The club announced a two-year contract extension for Mohamed Salah days ago and are expected to do the same for Van Dijk in the coming days. The deals underscore Liverpool's ambition, and Van Dijk teases that there are more to come, as they plan to make a splash in the summer transfer window.
“It should be a big summer. I think the club’s planning to make it a big summer,” the former Southampton defender said.

“We all have to trust the board, as a Liverpool-connected fan, to do the right job. Hopefully, the club will be challenging for titles for the next two seasons as well.”
Players on Liverpool's radar
The Reds have been linked with a number of players ahead of the summer transfer window, especially in the centre forward position, as they are set to part ways with Darwin Nunez, the €85 million striker that has failed to settle since joining in the summer of 2022.
Their preferred target is rumoured to be Alexander Isak; however, Newcastle are expected to demand north of €100m, a figure that might prove too much even for a side looking to be ambitious.
Victor Osimhen is an alternative, available for €75 million. They have also been linked with Bayer Leverkusen's attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz, who is also expected to cost over €100 million.
