A Pulse Sports XI of the most outstanding players from Serie A game week 21
Another round of Italian football action has come and gone with game week 22 ending on Monday night with a goalless draw between Sampdoria and Inter Milan.
Napoli extended their lead at the top to 15 points, AC Milan nicked their first win in eight games and Roma could only muster a draw against Lecce.
In the lower half of the table, Cremonese's loss to Napoli means they remain bottom of the league and without a win after 22 games, the only team in all of the top five European leagues with that distinction.
We have managed to fit the most outstanding performers in the game week from Friday to Monday into an xi with a 4-2-2-2 formation to make up the Pulse Sports Serie A Team of the Week.
Goalkeeper: Emilio Audero (Sampdoria) v Inter Milan
Sampdoria took a valuable point off Inter Milan with a goalless draw on Monday night and it was largely thanks to Emilio Audero's performance.
The 26-year-old Italian goalkeeper made five saves, most of which were crucial, especially one from a long-distance shot by Francesco Acerbi in added time to avoid defeat.
Centre-back: Jaka Bijol (Udinese) v Sassuolo
Slovenian centre-back Jaka Bijol played a key part in Udinese's 2-2 draw at home to Sassuolo on Sunday with a goal and an assist.
The 24-year-old got credited with the assist for Udogie's wondergoal and then found the net himself in the 27th minute with a sliding finish, converting a cross by Lazar Samardzic.
Centre-back: Giulio Donati (Monza) v Bologna
Veteran Italian central defender Giulio Donati was given a rare start for Monza away at Bologna and he repaid the manager's faith with the only goal of the game.
The 33-year-old got in an advanced position and benefited from some great piece of play by Andrea Petagna, rebounding home the game-winner in the 25th minute.
Right back: Davide Zappacosta (Atalanta) v Lazio
In a weekend that has spectacular goals, Davide Zappacosta scored a standout one for Atalanta in the 2-0 win away at Lazio.
The 30-year-old Italian opened the scoring for Atalanta in the 23d minute with a first-time right-footed shot into the top corner after running onto a loose ball.
Left back: Destiny Udogie (Udinese) v Sassuolo
Destiny Udogie put himself in the history books on Sunday with a spectacular goal after just 25 seconds for Udinese, the fastest goal of the season so far.
The 20-year-old Nigerian-Italian received the ball from Bijol in a non-threatening area and drove past multiple opponents before unleashing a long-range strike with his weaker foot past the stationary goalkeeper.
Central midfield: Adrien Rabiot (Juventus) v Fiorentina
Juventus clinched a third consecutive win the latest of which came against Fiorentina thanks to a first-half goal by Adrien Rabiot.
The French midfielder arrived late to connect with an Angel Di Maria cross to barely finish with the help of goal-line technology which was the decisive moment of the game.
Central midfield: Razvan Marin (Empoli) v Spezia
Spoiler alert, Empoli midfielder Razvan Marin is the only outfield player in this team of the week xi who didn't score or assist a goal, such was the scale of his performance against Spezia.
The 26-year-old Romanian masterminded Empoli's late comeback from 2 goals down to equalise despite playing most of the game a man down.
Left wing: Kvicha Kvaratskhelia (Napoli) v Cremonese
Georgian winger Kvicha Kvaratskhelia marked the momentous occasion of his 22nd birthday with a goal for Napoli against Cremonese.
His 22nd-minute goal came as a snapshot after beating his marker to give Napoli the lead in what turned out to be a comfortable 3-0 win for the league leaders.
Right wing: Daniele Verde (Spezia) v Empoli
Italian winger Daniele Verde scored his first league goals of the season with a brace for Spezia against Empoli, second of which was an absolute screamer.
Verde struck a fierce left-footed strike into the top corner to make it 2-0 to Spezia against 10-man Empoli but his team threw away the lead to draw 2-2.
Centre forward: Ademola Lookman (Atalanta) v Lazio
Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman couldn't add to his 12 league goals this season for Atalanta against Lazio but he was still a key figure.
Lookman was involved in both goals as his loose ball fell to Zappacosta for the first and Rasmus Hojlund converted his cross to score the second goal.
Centre forward: Victor Osimhen (Napoli) v Cremonese
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen continued his reign in Serie A with yet another goal for Napoli this time against Cremonese.
The 24-year-old didn't put up a vintage performance by his standards but his close-range finish extended his goalscoring run to six league games.
