Ahead of the 2022–2023 Nigeria National Football League (NNL), the Osun state-owned football club, Osun United, has unveiled its newly appointed head coach, Seye Ajayi.
The General Manager of the Osun State Sports Council, Rotimi Dunmoye, and other management members unveiled the coach on Monday in Osogbo.
Dunmoye said the mandate for the new coach is to promote the team to Nigeria's elite league, the Nigeria Professional Football league (NPFL).
Who is Osun United's new coach?
Seye Ajayi, a hardworking goalkeeper who has earned his stripes both inside and outside of Nigerian borders, was a roaster for Shooting Stars and Julius Berger FC before emigrating and making a name for himself with clubs such as Al Seeb Club, DPMM FC, and BRUNEI FC, among others.
As a player, he won the CAF Cup with the Shooting Stars of Ibadan (3SC) in 1992.
He graduated from is a graduate of National Insitutue of Sports (NIS). He bagged his 'CAF C' license in 2015 and has attended series of coaching seminars both home and abroad. He has a unique coaching concept which saw him mentored successful players. He has worked with Jofac FC Lagos, Rising Stars Abuja, Ascend FC Abuja, Amadin and Premier FC Abuja based sides.
Seye said his ambition is to give young and enterprising players enough chances as his assignment begins.
The team will resume on March 1st, once players and officials have completed their required election break and weeks of rigorous screening.
