The Blues star has now been named Premier League Player of the Month twice
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has been voted the Premier League Player of the Month for September 2024 after beating competition from several top names.
Palmer earns POTM after stellar September
The England international scored five goals and provided an assist in four matches for Chelsea in the Premier League in September, more than any other player in the competition.
His most spectacular performance came in the Blues, 4-2 win over Brighton, where Palmer scored all four goals and became the first player in Premier League history to score four times in the first half of a match.
The Chelsea star also scored in Chelsea’s game against West Ham and provided an assist in their 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.
In addition to that incredible display against Brighton, Palmer also produced an assist in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace and a goal in a 3-0 win at West Ham United.
Palmer beats top names to coveted award
The September Player of the Month award was Palmer’s second title, more than contemporary Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka after the Chelsea star also claimed the Player of the Month accolade for April 2024.
The Blues star topped an eight-man shortlist that also included Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Ryan Gravenberch, Newcastle’s Harvey Barnes, Arsenal’s Gabriel, Fulham’s Raul Jimenez, Everton’s Dwight McNeil, and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, who were nominated for September's award.
Palmer was crowned the Player of the Month after the public's votes were combined with those of a panel of Premier League football experts.
Palmer has already begun the charge for the October award after assisting Chelsea’s only goal in their 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, providing his 11th goal contribution for the Blues this season.
