Newly-appointed Shabana coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo has detailed what he did differently before their five-goal win at the weekend while revealing his transfer plans
Shabana coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo believes a change in mentality is what his team needed more, having started his rein with a thumping 5-2 win.
Shabana put Nzoia Sugar to the sword courtesy of Justin Omwando’s hat-trick and Mathew Tegisi’s debut brace to hand the former Tusker FC coach a dream start.
Omollo had just one day to work with his players before the game against Nzoia and with little time to change much tactically, he opted to work on their minds instead.

Sammy Omollo 'Pamzo' starts his career as Shabana head coach on a high as the Glamour Boyz toss aside Nzoia Sugar 5-2.
“We changed the mindset, we told them they can do it, they just have to believe in themselves,” Pamzo told Pulse Sports.
“Shabana is a big club and when you play for them, its is not just getting results, you also need a strong mentality.
“So, it is all phycological, it starts in the mind. Shabana is a popular club and when you play for them you also market yourself.”

FOOTBALL Pamzo: Shabana fans better than Gor Mahia & AFC Leopards supporters
Shabana’s new coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo feels Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards fans cannot match Tore Bobe supporters as he credits them for making it easy for him to accept the job
Pamzo has now got to work and he has a whole week to start implanting his philosophy before their next game against Ulinzi Stars when he will meet the home fans for the first time.
That includes integrating the club’s new signings into the squad. Shabana have already signed two-goal hero Tegisi from local rivals Gusii FC, left-back Lamela Maneno from Tanzanian side Sindiga and midfielders Japhet Lihanda and Brian Odhimabo from Rainbow FC and Darajani Gogo respectively.
While it has been reported that Shabana are planning a ‘radical surgery’ of the squad, the new coach appears satisfied with a few additions.

FKFPL Pamzo confident in Shabana's ability to climb out of relegation zone
New Shabana FC head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo aims to lift the team out of the relegation zone in upcoming fixtures, starting with Nzoia Sugar on Sunday
“I am not looking to sign like 12 players, that is counterproductive. If I do that, then it means I will be starting from scratch,” he added.
“All I need is them to trust me and buy into what we are trying to do. They should not panic. We are helping the new players to acclimatise because some of them came from outside Kisii.”
Pamzo has a big jog on his hands to ensure Shabana avoid relegation as they sit 16th on the 18-team table with 17 points, four more than bottom-placed Nzoia.
