Shabana’s new coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo feels Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards fans cannot match Tore Bobe supporters as he credits them for making it easy for him to accept the job
Shabana FC coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo believes the club now has a bigger and better fanbase than that of Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.
Pamzo, who was unveiled as Shabana’s new coach on Wednesday, has wasted no time in endearing himself to Tore Bobe supporters whom he credits for his decision to join the club.
“Right now, we really need the support of the fans. Their support has been immense and it is one of the reasons I am here,” said Pamzo.

FKFPL Muyoti reveals why he turned down Shabana job
Muyoti was set to become Shabana head coach after agreeing terms with the club but changed his mind to stay at high flying City Stars.
“Everybody is saying Shabana do not deserve to be relegated because of the fans. There is some swag that Shabana fans bring into the league which is something we were lacking.
“Let me be honest, right now, the Shabana fanbase is bigger than Gor Mahia’s. They are so vocal and so passionate about the team. Even AFC Leopards cannot match the Shabana fanbase and this is what Kenyan football is, we need to see fans in the game.”
The former Kenya Police, Posta Rangers and Tusker FC coach has been bestowed with the responsibility of ensuring Shabana do not get relegated following their top-flight promotion after 17 years in the lower leagues.
He has a big job on his hands as Shabana have won just three games which has left them second from bottom on the FKF Premier League table on 14 points, one more than bottom-placed Nzoia Sugar, who they face on Saturday.
The former Gor Mahia assistant coach now wants to make his team hard to beat while he is keen to make their home ground a fortress once they return to their Gusii Stadium which is currently under renovation.
“There is no Shabana game you will miss fans whether they are losing, winning or drawing. Fans will always be there and I just wish that through the governor, if our Gusii Stadium can be completed [quickly], then it would be good for us in terms of having a fanbase and the club generating revenue,” he added.

FKFPL Shabana part ways with first-team duo over gross indiscipline
Shabana FC terminates contracts of two players for gross indiscipline, following failed post-suspension integration.
“I remember when I was still playing, coming to Gusii and getting points was very difficult. If you got a draw, it was like a win. That is where I want us to be,” said Pamzo.
Shabana sacked Sammy Okoth in November after a string of poor performances but things did not improve under interim coach Oscar Kambona and after a two-months search, they have settled on the experienced Pamzo whom they hope will deliver success.
