Nicolas Pepe speaks on his future, and Arsenal.
Nicolas Pepe recently returned from injury, just in time for the last stretch of the season for Nice.
With his loan deal at Le Gym set to expire at the end of the season, the Ivorian winger spoke on his future and his time at Arsenal, where he claimed he could have been more important, but the manager thought differently.
What Pepe said
Pepe was speaking at a press conference ahead of Nice's Ligue 1 game this weekend against Angers, where he was vocal about his future.
The 27-year-old forward revealed that he was happy in Nice and that at the moment he was not thinking about the future, as he was focused on the remainder of the season. Les Aiglons, who are currently 7th, are fighting for the five available guaranteed European spots and are still going strong in the UEFA Conference League.
Nicolas Pepe: “I am very happy at Nice. There are two important months to come for this club. I want to concentrate on that, and I’m not sure after that. There will be discussions,” per GDDB
What Pepe said on Arteta
The Ivory Coast international explained that he did not know the plans Arsenal had for him and that he could only wait till the end of the season to be sure.

Pepe remains Arsenal's record transfer, and his correct loan status is evident that the move has not worked out, at least not yet, but Pepe thought he could have been a key factor for the Gunners, suggesting that he did not get a fair shot from the manager.
“I don’t know what Arsenal want. I still have a lot of friends there. I could have been important for the club, but those are the coach’s choices.”
Nice travel to play Angers in tomorrow's Ligue 1 afternoon kickoff.
