Peru has withdrawn from hosting the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
This comes after extensive discussions between FIFA and the Peruvian Football Federation.
The U-17 World Cup is scheduled to take place from November 10 to December 2.
The FIFA Council confirmed that they will choose a replacement host in due time.

Although FIFA and the FPF have a great working relationship, it has been decided that there is now insufficient time to acquire the necessary investment and finish the necessary work with the Peruvian government prior to the tournament's start date.

The 15th edition of the cadet tournament will see 11 nations' U-17 sides head to Algeria in April in a bid to qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Should the Golden Eaglets finish as one of the top four teams in Algeria, they will get the chance to fly Nigeria's flag in Peru.
