Former Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro congratulated Ademola Lookman for winning the CAF POTY.
Former Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has explained how he helped Ademola Lookman find his best form for Nigeria, which effectively kickstarted the journey to this CAF Player of the Year triumph.
As Pulse Sports detailed, Lookman rose to the occasion in big moments this year, and it all began at the AFCON, where he scored all the goals for Nigeria in the Round of 16 and quarter-finals.

The newly-crowned African best has already been congratulated by some of the biggest names in world football.
The Super Eagles eventually won silver; undeterred by the eventual disappointment, Lookman carried his tournament form to Atalanta, leading La Dea to the Europa League trophy, top-four finish, and Coppa Italia silver.
What Peseiro said
Following Lookman’s coronation as the king of African football for at least one year, last night, Peseiro was interviewed by Sports Italia, where he congratulated the former Everton forward.
“I think Lookman’s victory is deserved given his performances both for Atalanta, his club and for his country, Nigeria,” Peseiro told the outlet.
Like Lookman told the world last night, he failed four years ago (at Fulham), and now he is at the mountaintop. Peseiro was asked to reveal the ingredients that made the broth, and he went on to credit freedom as the key to the 27-year-old's turnaround.
“I think giving Lookman the freedom to move around has allowed him to show his quality both in terms of decision-making and execution.
“Of course, the club and Gasperini have provided Lookman with the environment to grow as a player in all aspects.”
