The FKF vice president revealed that financial constraints are the federation's major undoing.
FKF Vice chairperson Doris Petra believes it will take time before the sport comes back fully to its feet due to the financial challenges the federation is currently facing.
Kenya was banned from global football by FIFA in February last year after the sports ministry disbanded the football federation (FKF) over alleged misappropriation of funds.
The ban was lifted late November last year and Petra noted that the journey to bring football back will not be an easy run.
“In the public eye, there is a lot of money at FKF but financially we have still not been able to get enough support to finance our activities. After the ban, there is a lot to be done but we are bracing up for the challenges,” she said, as quoted by K24 Sport.

FOOTBALL Harambee Starlets suffer blow as Albania friendly is cancelled
The provisional squad for the match had already been announced and preparations were in top gear.
The struggle has also seen the friendly match between Harambee Starlets and Albania cancelled due to logistical challenges. However, the men’s national team, Harambee Stars, were lucky to travel to Iran and play a friendly match that saw them lose 1-2.
Petra said that a lot of time and talent was wasted during the time football were serving the suspension but expressed optimism.
“Things are going on well at the moment but we have lost so much in the process. A lot of time and opportunities have been lost but we are picking up the pieces slowly. We hope to do a lot because this comes as an opportunity for us to rebuild,” she said.
She added that they will be keen to start their campaign with spreading football in the grassroots to ensure there is continuity in the sport.
